What does it mean to be a Precision

    Certified Technician?

I’ve been in the garage door business for over ten years, and starting out I honestly had no idea how to certify my technicians, or what this process even entailed. Like a lot garage door companies, I didn’t perform any background checks, perform employee drug tests, or any other checks. I was naïve in my hiring standards, and hired relatives and average people who seemed to know what they were doing. However, and sadly, we made the mistake of not administering any type of test, and for that, we learned the hard way. After hiring insurance scammers, thefts, and addicts, my company paid the price for stolen merchandise, crashed automobiles and fraud. Ever since, it has become mandatory that every hired employee passes specific tests.

At Precision all of our technicians are certified. That means every hired employee must complete and pass one month of classroom training followed by another month of on the road training with a certified technician before they can go on the road to work alone. That is why our certified technicians are capable of repairing any garage door operating system available in the market place.

Aside from proper garage door service training, all of our a certified technicians must:

  1. Complete a full physical
  2. Pass initial and continual random drug tests
  3. Have a completely clean record (including a background, driving and credit check)
  4. Pass a psychological assessment

Quality garage door companies will take these measures to make sure that their employees are sufficiently trained and can stand by their word when they say that their employees are truly certified technicians. It is easy for a company to say they have “certified technicians.” Don’t assume this is a fact until you can see visual proof that it’s true. That’s why, here at Precision, we offer all of our customers the option of viewing our employees’ pictures, and passed drug, physical and record tests. If a sales representative from Precision comes to your home, they will be carrying this information. In order to view this information online, please view below.
